Cormac Mohan Appointed President of CPA Ireland Accountancy Body


Cormac Mohan, CPA. is the President of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA Ireland). Mr. Mohan took office at the Annual General Meeting of Members on April 25th 2018 held at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland, 17 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2.

Cormac Mohan, originally from Co. Monaghan, is a qualified CPA accountant and the Managing partner at FM Accountants & Business Advisors based in Dublin. Mr. Mohan is an expert in corporate recovery & Insolvency and has previously held senior positions in Microsoft & Coca Cola internationally.

Mr. Mohan has said that his priority as president is ensuring that Ireland ‘’Remains competitive and reacting with agility to external and local economic factors is critical to ensure a sustainable economic model harnessing innovation and growth. After several years of a strong and stable economy, uncertainty is inevitable in the years ahead.”


Mr. Mohan said. “External factors including Brexit, interest rate hikes, inflation coupled with an infrastructure deficit on housing are all on the horizon. Government needs to review the range of supports and tax policies to Indigenous Irish business and SMEs so that we are not faced with significant job losses across many sectors in the event of another economic slowdown.”


CPA Ireland is one of the main Irish accountancy bodies with more than 5,000 members and students.  The CPA designation is the most commonly used designation worldwide for professional accountants and the Institute’s qualification enjoys wide international recognition.  Its current membership operates in public practice, industry, financial services and the public sector and CPAs work in over 48 countries around the world.
